A Day in the Life of a Wycombe Abbey School Student
01
Arrival
7:50am to 8:00am
As the school day begins, our students arrive on campus and line up outside the main entrance, where they are warmly greeted by our Headmaster and some staff. At 7:50 am, the students are guided to their respective classrooms for a form time session with their class teacher and teaching assistant, laying the foundation for the day ahead.
02
Assembly
8:00am to 8:20am
On designated days of the week, the students attend their key stage-specific assemblies, where they receive important announcements, recognition for their achievements, and often enjoy guest performances or visitors. On Fridays, the whole school gathers for assembly together, to encourage a sense of community and shared purpose.
03
Lessons
8:20am to 12:10pm
The academic day officially begins at 8:20 am. Students engage in three 35-minute lessons before their 15-minute snack break at 10:05 am. After the break, they return to their classrooms for another three lessons, concluding at 12:10 pm. Lunch takes place from 12:10 pm to 1:00 pm. The final 3 lessons take place after lunch, and end at 2:45pm.
04
Snack/Lunch Time
12:10pm to 1:00pm
During the 15-minute snack break in the morning, students have the opportunity to socialise with their peers, either indoors in their classrooms or the atrium, or outdoors on the football pitch, depending on the weather. Snack and lunch times are supervised by our dedicated teaching staff to ensure the safety and well-being of our students in a nurturing environment. Lunchtime is divided into two parts – playtime outside on the football pitch, where they can read, play, or participate in activities, and their meal in the dining hall.
05
End of School / Departure
2:45pm to 3:00pm
The school day concludes at 2:45 pm, with students gathering in the atrium to be picked up by their parents, board their school buses, or head to an extracurricular activity of their choice.
06
Extracurricular Activities (ECAs)
3:10pm to 5:00pm
After the formal school day ends, students can participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports such as football and wall climbing, cultural pursuits like music and art, and other engaging offerings like Homework Club or cooking. These ECAs are held from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, allowing students to explore their interests and develop new skills.
