Curriculum Highlights

WASHK Entrepreneuship Senior School

Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is a mandatory part of the curriculum, equipping students with the real-world skills, strategic mindset, and problem-solving abilities needed to thrive in a fast-changing economy.

What sets our programme apart is its hands-on approach—students don’t just learn business concepts, they apply them by launching and managing real ventures. Through this experience, they develop creativity, resilience, and leadership, giving them a competitive edge for university and beyond.

By fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, we prepare students not just for their next academic step, but for a future where innovation and adaptability are key to success.

WASHK iSTEAM

iSTEAM

STEAM is an interdisciplinary fusion of ICT, technology, robotics, coding, engineering, mathematics, science, and art and design. Unlike many Hong Kong schools where iSTEAM, commonly known as STEM or STEAM, is offered as an extracurricular activity, it is integrated as a core subject within our weekly subject timetable.

Additionally, our iSTEAM programme’s holistic assessment framework is what sets it apart, evaluating not only academic skills but also essential life skills and values—including resilience, adaptability, collaboration, risk-taking, honesty, and integrity. This well-rounded approach equips students to make meaningful contributions to their academic, personal, and professional endeavors.

WASHK - Sixth Form

A-levels are specialised, subject-focused courses that give students the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge in their chosen subjects, making them highly competitive in university admissions.

Accepted by prestigious institutions in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, and beyond, A-levels give students a distinct academic advantage when applying to world-renowned universities like Oxford, Cambridge, and Ivy League schools.

A Day in A Life

Experience the rhythm and excitement of a typical day at our Senior School, where learning comes alive through engaging activities, meaningful connections, and joyful discovery.

Before School

Classes begin at 8:00 AM, and students can arrive by school bus or public transport. Before the day officially starts, students have the chance to catch up with classmates and teachers, setting a positive tone for the day ahead.

During School

The schedule has eight periods per day of 40 minutes each. When it comes to lunch, students have the flexibility to choose between a catered school meal, bringing their own lunch, or—for Sixth Form students—grabbing a to-go option from one of the trendy cafes nearby. This time also allows the Sixth Form students to hang out with friends independently, giving them a taste of the social freedom they’ll experience at university. Extracurricular activities (ECAs) and sports are seamlessly integrated into the school day.

After School

The school day officially ends at 4:30 PM, and school buses are available for those who need them. Students can remain on campus until 7:00 PM for tailored support, with rotating teachers offering individual clinics in exam preparation, homework assistance, and university admissions guidance. Students can also engage in one-on-one learning sessions, ensuring the students receive the support they need.

Individualised Attention

Afterschool Clinics

Students benefit from our After School Clinics, a dedicated academic support programme that allows them to stay on campus until 7:00 PM. Teachers rotate on a bi-weekly basis, offering focused subject-specific sessions tailored to individual learning needs. These clinics provide the extra time and attention necessary to help students overcome challenges, reinforce key concepts, and build confidence in their studies.

The programme emphasises personalised, one-on-one mentorship, ensuring each student receives targeted skill development and academic guidance, whether a learner requires intervention or seeks to excel beyond the curriculum.

Additionally, we offer specialised 1:1 tutoring (fee-based), including EAL (English as an Additional Language) support and subject-specific academic tutoring, providing further flexibility for families seeking extra assistance.

Small Class Sizes

Intentionally small class sizes are the cornerstone of our commitment to individualised learning. We strictly cap class numbers at 24 students to ensure no group exceeds our size limit—and should that threshold be reached, classes are promptly split to preserve the integrity of our learning environment.

With fewer students per class, we cultivate a setting where every voice can be heard, strengths can be amplified, and knowledge gaps can be proactively addressed.

By maintaining small cohorts and an optimal teacher-student ratio, we foster focused interactions that drive measurable progress. At our school, individualised attention isn’t just a philosophy; it’s a structured practice rooted in deliberate design, ensuring every student thrives.
