Why Entrepreneurship Matters at WASHK
At Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong, entrepreneurship is a cornerstone of our Senior School curriculum. We believe that preparing students for the future means giving them more than academic knowledge—it means equipping them with the confidence and skills to innovate, adapt, and lead.
Students go beyond theory to experience the full journey of building a business. From shaping ideas to managing real projects, they learn what it takes to turn concepts into reality. This practical approach develops creativity, sharpens problem-solving, and builds resilience, which are qualities that will serve them well at university and in life.
By fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, we help students see challenges as opportunities and prepare them for a world where adaptability and innovation are essential.

Q&A with Ms. Trisha Daswani
Tell us about your role at Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong.
I am the Head of Business, Economics, and Entrepreneurship, where I have the privilege of leading these dynamic subjects and inspiring students to explore the world of commerce and innovation.
What inspired you to become a teacher?
I was inspired to become a teacher by a deep-seated desire to make a positive difference in students’ lives. I am passionate about making teaching relatable and showing students how to apply economic principles to their own lives and the world around them.
How would you describe your teaching style?
My teaching style is highly interactive, centred around fostering lively discussions and utilising a wide range of case studies and real-life examples. I believe this approach brings the subject matter to life and helps students grasp complex concepts more effectively.
What’s one thing you hope students take away from your teaching?
I want my students to carry with them a new perspective: the ability to see the world through the insightful lens of business and economics, equipping them to navigate complex challenges as the next generation of innovators and leaders. And at the heart of it all, I work to ensure every student carries the foundational confidence that they can achieve their goals.
What do you love about Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong?
I truly love the small school environment, which makes it so easy to build strong, meaningful relationships with both students and fellow teachers. This creates a wonderful and supportive sense of community that is felt throughout the school.
Are you involved in any extracurricular activities or initiatives?
Yes, I am heavily involved in our Entrepreneurship initiatives, where I guide students through the end-to-end process of running a real-life business. This includes helping them develop and pitch their ideas and training their essential public speaking skills. To further bring these concepts to life, I also invite guest speakers from various industries to expose students to the realities of different career paths and broaden their understanding of the professional world.
What book, movie, or song would you recommend to your students—and why?
I would highly recommend the book Shoe Dog by Phil Knight and the movie The Founder, starring Michael Keaton. Both powerfully showcase the essential entrepreneurial spirit of perseverance, highlighting the importance of not giving up when you face failure.

What are your hobbies or interests outside of school?
Outside of school, I am an avid hiker. A fun fact about me is that I’ve completed over 260 different hikes right here in Hong Kong!
What are you looking forward to most this year?
I’m excited to get to know the students and guide them as they run their businesses throughout the year. I can’t wait to hear their pitches and see their ideas come to life. I know that not every venture will succeed on the first try, and that’s part of the learning process. In fact, I’m even more excited to see how the students respond to those initial setbacks, using their creativity and resilience to pivot, improve, and ultimately grow from the experience.
We are delighted to have Ms. Daswani join our Senior School team and look forward to the creativity, energy, and expertise she will bring to our students’ learning experience.
